The Mayor and the Clerk of Marvin are getting locked up! Locked up for a good cause that is!
Joe Pollino and Melody Graham have been nominated to participate in the South Charlotte Lock-Up for MDA. They'll be hauled away on Thursday, August 25 at 9 a.m. in order to serve time while trying to raise funds to free individuals — and the families who love them — from the harmful effects of muscular dystrophy, ALS and related life-threatening diseases so they can live longer and grow stronger.
Did you know that muscular dystrophy, ALS and related disease take away everyday freedoms like walking, running, hugging and even breathing? This is why Joe and Melody are dedicating their time behind bars to help MDA fund ground-breaking research across diseases, provide critical care from the first day of diagnosis and empower families with services and support in hometowns across America.
Visit the MDA Lock-up page and search for their names if you would like to contribute.

The Village Council has proclaimed that August 18, 2016 be known as Annie Wallace Day in the Village of Marvin in honor of long-time area resident Mrs. Annie Wallace upon the occasion of her 100th Birthday.
Mrs. Wallace was born in Lancaster County, SC on August 18, 1916 and has been a resident of the Marvin area for most of her life. She has seen this area grow from a very small farming community to the Village that we all know today. She married Mayo Wallace and had five children with him, plus a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Wallace will celebrate her birthday with family and friends on August 20. We wish her all the very best on her special day.
