Thank You Park Volunteers!

Posted by Melody Monday, March 21, 2016 1:25:00 PM

As the old saying goes "Many hands make light work".  That was certainly true for the Park Volunteer Day.  Thanks to our volunteers and our park staff, we were able to spread a large section of mulch to better the park trails, clean up a few natural areas and remove the old corral posts.  While the turnout was light, the volunteers worked hard to make a difference - and it shows!

Thanks to the following:

Volunteer Day at Marvin Efird Park

Posted by Melody Friday, March 18, 2016 12:47:00 PM

Just a reminder that the Village of Marvin is holding a volunteer day at Marvin Efird Park tomorrow (Saturday, March 19) from 9 a.m.-noon.  The forecast is calling for rain showers to begin overnight tonight.  Our first hope is – maybe the forecasters are wrong!  The second hope is – maybe the rain will be light enough that we can still do some much needed work!

Either way, we are still planning on holding the volunteer day.  If there happens to be a torrential downpour in the morning, then we’ll cancel, but otherwise, we welcome any and all volunteers!

Volunteers will be working on various projects to assist in readying trails, flower beds, open space and the playground for the upcoming spring and summer seasons.  Everyone is welcome to volunteer and there will be jobs available for all age groups. Bring your gardening tools and work gloves and help make Marvin Efird Park a place for all to enjoy.

Non-Marvin taxpayers may use these volunteer hours to count toward a free annual parking pass.

Hope to see you at Marvin Efird Park!
