Village of Marvin Welcomes New Administrator
The Village of Marvin is pleased to announce that Christina Alphin has been hired as our next Village Administrator. Christina comes to Marvin from the City of Albemarle where she spent the last three years as the Assistant City Manager leading 11 departments and a total of 275 full time employees, and managing a $60M budget. Christina has a Master in Public Administration from East Carolina University and Municipal Administration credentials from University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill School of Government. She is a member of the International City/County Manager’s Association as well as the NC City/County Manager’s Association. We are excited to bring this level of local government experience and leadership to Marvin.

First Roundabout at Marvin School Road:
Traveling West on New Town Road (towards South Carolina) -- turn left onto Crane Road, then at the end of Crane turn right onto Waxhaw-Marvin Road, and then at the end of Waxhaw-Marvin, turn left back onto New Town Road.
Second Roundabout at Waxhaw-Marvin Road:
Traveling East on New Town Road (towards Monroe) – turn right onto Waxhaw-Marvin Road, then at the traffic light, turn left onto Crane Road, and then at the next traffic light, turn right back onto New Town Road.

Special Meeting Notice
Mayor Joseph E. Pollino, Jr., has called for a special meeting of the Village Council to be held Monday, June 4, 2018, at 6:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall of Banks Presbyterian Church on (10012 New Town Road) adjacent to the Village Hall. The purpose of the meeting is to hold a roundtable discussion regarding the roundabout on New Town Road/Marvin Road with NCDOT, affected property owners and Village Council.

Please take notice, the Marvin Village Council will adopt the proposed General Fund Budget Ordinance #OR-2018-05-02 for the Fiscal Year 2018-2019 at the Regular Council Meeting on June 12, 2018, at 6:30 pm. The proposed budget is available for public inspection at the Village Hall website and in the Clerk’s Office weekdays from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM on Monday and 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM Tuesday-Thursday and by appointment on Friday.

NOTICE is hereby given that a quorum of the Village Council for the Village of Marvin in Marvin, NC may attend the Roundabout discussion with North Carolina Department of Transportation on June 4, 2018, at 6:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall of Banks Presbyterian Church located at 10012 New Town Road adjacent to the Village Hall.
NOTE: The event or function described above has not been called by Village Council, is not being conducted by the Village Council, and is not under the supervision or control of Village Council. The Village Council is not responsible for the meeting, the topic of discussion, or the content of any communications made during the event or function. No formal action or deliberations between or among members of the Village Council will take place.
Construction expected on the Twin Roundabouts

Coming Soon – NCDOT expects construction to start this summer on the twin roundabouts at Marvin School Road and Waxhaw-Marvin Road. The work will be phased such that the Marvin School Road roundabout will be constructed first (starting on or about June 11, 2018) and functional before the first day of school (August 27, 2018). The Waxhaw-Marvin Road roundabout and the widened portion between the two will be started after that and is expected to be completed by October 12, 2018. Each roundabout will require a detour as the intersection for each will be closed during construction. The detour will be provided by NCDOT and signed as appropriate.

The Village of Marvin and the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will be meeting with the Landowners immediately adjacent to the new roundabout at the intersection of Marvin Road and New Town Road. The meeting will be held Monday, June 4th, 2018, at 6:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall of Banks Presbyterian Church at 10012 New Town Road (next to Village Hall).
