Posted by Melody Thursday, May 14, 2015 9:57:00 AM

The Village of Marvin is saddened to announce the passing of Gordon Suhré, long-time Mayor of Marvin.  He passed away peacefully this morning of complications from cancer.  Mayor Suhré was a friend to many and served the Village faithfully, beginning with his charter term as a Council Member  in 1993.  He was first elected as Mayor in 1995 and he served continuously as Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem until 2005.  He was an active force in the original incorporation of the Village and was Mayor during the Village's year-long moratorium, which allowed the Village to develop its strict development code which in turn helped to preserve the Marvin that we currently are proud to call home.

Mayor Suhré is survived by his wife Linda, son Chris and his two beautiful granddaughters.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to his entire family.
