Village Clerk/Assistant to Administrator
The Village of Marvin, North Carolina (pop. 6,900) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clerk. The Clerk position reports to the Administrator and Village Council. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, as well as strong organizational and leadership skills. He or she must possess a comprehensive knowledge of municipal legislative processes, knowledge of laws related to open meetings, open records and records retention, ability to utilize technology to update various portions of the Village’s websites relative to posting meeting agendas and minutes, and the ability to interpret Statutes and Village ordinances. The successful candidate will also be responsible for duties including, but not limited to, attending and preparing minutes for all meetings of Village Council, Planning Board, Parks and Recreation Board, and various subcommittee meetings, preparing agendas and meeting packets, conducting an annual update of the Village’s Codified Ordinances, and other projects as assigned by the Administrator or Village Council. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. The position is full-time with benefits. The salary starting at $40,000. Park Maintenance Associate
The Village of Marvin has an immediate opening for a Summer Park Maintenance Associate. The position will be primarily responsible for light maintenance and closing the park in the evenings during the extended summer hours. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Candidates must be at least 18 yrs old, with a valid North Carolina driver’s license; able to work independently without on-site supervision, and may require use of machinery, power tools and hand tools. The position may require minor medical training.

The Village of Marvin, North Carolina (pop. 6,967) is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed, and experienced Finance Officer. The Finance Officer reports to the Manager and works in partnership with all Village departments to provide financial leadership. The Finance Officer is responsible for effective administration and management of the Village’s financial planning, reporting, audit, cash flow management, general accounting functions, fixed asset inventory, capital projects, and financial data. This position works closely with the Administrator and Council on financial policies and prepares, analyzes, and monitors the Village’s operating and capital budgets. Working knowledge of QuickBooks and/or governmental accounting software required. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field; and two (2) years of professional experience in accounting and budgeting in a comparable size organization. Preference given to candidates with North Carolina municipal experience.
